About Saguaro National Park
Established in 1994, Saguaro National Park is home to the nation's largest cacti – the giant saguaro – the universal symbol of the American west. These majestic plants, found only in a small portion of the United States, may live more than 200 years and grow to a height of 45 feet. Poppies, Penstemons and Fairy Dusters as well as Gila Monsters, rattlesnakes and Javelinas also make the magnificent Sonoran Desert their home. Saguaro National Park is located in Arizona.
